So nobody can post as your organization. Nothing approves itself.
Verified means HalallO confirmed this account belongs to the organization. It says nothing about food or halal status.
- ApplyTell us about your organization and who you are in it. It takes about five minutes.
- Confirm the addressWe email a 6-digit code to an address on your website’s domain, or you tell us the best way to reach you. City agencies and certifiers always get a call or an official email.
- A person checksSomeone at HalallO confirms the account belongs to the organization, usually within three business days. You can prepare events in the meantime.
- You’re verifiedYour badge appears, your drafts publish, and you can add your team.
Events never change halal labels.
Happening is a separate layer for what’s on in the community. Restaurant listings and their halal evidence work exactly as before.
How halal information works- Events never change halal labels
They live in their own part of the app, apart from restaurant listings. Linking a restaurant to an event shows its name, nothing more.
- Your words stay yours
Event descriptions show as “From the organizer”. If you say halal food is served, it’s your statement; HalallO doesn’t check or certify it.
- The badge is about the account
It means we confirmed who runs it. It doesn’t mean HalallO endorses your organization or its halal claims.
- Same rules for everyone
Events and announcements follow the Content and Conduct Policy. People can report them, and a person reviews every report.
Questions
Something else? Write to business@halallo.com. A person answers, usually within a business day.
Does it cost anything?
No. Verified organization accounts, events and announcements are free.
Who can apply?
Mosques, student associations, nonprofits, halal certifiers, city and government agencies, community groups and business associations in the cities HalallO covers (New York and London for now). Apply as someone who can act for the organization.
How do you verify us?
With a 6-digit code sent to an email on your website’s own domain, or by a person who calls your public number or writes to an official address. Either way a person at HalallO approves every organization. City agencies and certifiers are always checked by a call or an official email, never by an email code alone.
Can we post before we’re verified?
Yes, as drafts. Nobody sees them until you’re verified; then they publish on their own, as long as they haven’t ended.
Does the verified badge mean halal certified?
No. Verified means HalallO confirmed this account belongs to the organization. It says nothing about food or halal status. Halal information about restaurants comes from certificates, owners and the community, and is explained in How halal information works.
We also run a restaurant. Is that separate?
Yes. Claim the restaurant through the restaurant claim. It’s the same HalallO account, and the two never affect each other.
Can several people manage the account?
Yes, up to 25. Owners add people by their HalallO username and choose owner or editor. There is always at least one owner.
Ready when you are.
Apply in about five minutes. You can prepare your first events while a person checks your account.
